Year Two Class Page

Welcome to Year 2’s family!

The Year 2 children are taught by Miss Smyth and are supported by Miss Tombs.

Within this academic year, we will be developing and supporting your child’s wellbeing and academic progress. We have created an exciting curriculum where the children have access to be creative but more importantly enjoy every aspect of school life. Additionally, the children’s independence is hugely promoted in Year 2 in order to enhance their confidence so that they are able to become responsible for their own learning.

During this year we will be learning about the life and vocation of St Bernadette, who is famous for the miracle at Lourdes. We will also learn what is meant by ‘love one another’ as we closely analyse our St Cuthbert’s mission statement. In addition to this, we will be looking at a Catholic Social Teaching principle each term to learn how we can work together to create a more peaceful world.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Class Saint: Saint Bernadette

Saint Bernadette is the Patron Saint of the poor.

" I shall spend every moment loving. One who loves does not notice her trials; or perhaps, more accurately, she is able to love them."
